To date, the structure consists of experienced geologists in mining, structural geology and geo-mechanics and skilled quarry masters with many years of experience gained working in the quarries of various countries.
Earth Sciences Departments of the University of Pisa and Florence are in charge of the scientific supervision of relevant projects. Geofield started a strict co-operation with those Universities since the birth of the company.
He is a geologist, international advisor in the field of dimension stone and industrial mineral, giving prominence to the development of technologies for the pollution reduction in quarries exploitation.Mr. Matteoli started his career as field geologist in 1983 and since that time he continued his professional activities working with Technostone SpA and RI.MIN. SpA in project related to the dimension stone and industrial mineral in Italy as well as world wide.At the beginning of his professional career, Mr. Matteoli increased his knowledge in dimension stone quarrying working as quarry man for few months in a marble quarry in Carrara and in a granite quarry in Sardinia island; he also work in a kaolin quarry in the Elba island (Italy) to improve the industrial minerals knowledge. To date Mr. Sergio Matteoli surely is one of the most skilled geologist in research, evaluation and exploitation of dimension stone and he is Work Director in two underground marble quarries near to Carrara and two granite quarries in the Elba island; Since 2012 Mr Matteoli is Qualified Professional Member of MMSA (Mining & Metallurgical Society of America)
He graduated with honours in Geology and get its PhD in Earth Sciences at the University of Florence. Since 6 years he collaborates with the University of Florence by participating in geological mapping projects and studies on structural and stratigraphic evolution of the peri-mediterranean orogens. Following these experiences he has published several scientific articles on both Italian and international journals. He has worked with several professional firms in the study of geological and geotechnical parameters influencing the design and renovation of public and private buildings and in the field of hydro-geological analyses to search for water underground. Since 2008 collaborates with Geofield working in the field of ornamental and industrial minerals. In this context leads mainly stratigraphic and structural analyses on potential fields in order to evaluate the characteristics and volumes of various georesources, both in Italy and abroad.
She graduated with honors in geology at the University of Florence in 2001 and then obtained his PhD at the Earth Sciences Department of the same University in 2005. During several years of collaboration with the University of Florence she acquired earning experiences in the geological and geomechanics characterization of fractured rock masses subjected to excavation both in the surface and in the underground. He gained experience in different working environments, addressing structural geology and geotechnical-geomechanical issues related to the design of roads and railways both outdoor and in tunnel, design and planning of mining and facing geo-environmental issues.Admitted to the Geologists Association of Tuscany since 2001, since 2007 she collaborates actively with Geofield for projects in Italy and abroad.He has published several articles in both Italian and international magazines.
During around 20 years of experience he was involved in quite all the activities related to the dimension stone quarries exploitation phases. Since September 2006 he is permanent collaborator of Geofield serving as permanent quarry master in marble and granite quarries in Tunisia, Brasil, Nigeria and Pakistan. He has a perfect knowledge of all the quarry machines and speak fluently Arabic, French and Urdu.
He is a quarry master with a long lasting experience on several quarries in the world. These experience have given him a full management ability on all quarry activities. He has a perfect knowledge of all the quarry machines. Since November 2009 he is a Geofield permanent collaborator working as permanent quarry master in some project in Morocco, Pakistan and Nigeria.
Mr. Giorgio Merlini is a chemical engineer specialized in the production and use of calcium carbonate products (GCC, PCC, Slurry) as well as in some other industrial minerals as Dolomite, Diatomite, etc.. He started his professional career in 1970 with the British firm ECC in Massa (Italy) and in 1983 he became the general manager of the Avezzano (Italy) plant. Since 1996 he work as free-lance consultant in many projects for the biggest companies of this sector in Italy or abroad in the field of processing and application of different minerals as PCC, GCC or Slurry.
Thanking to the large experience got in his artisanal company located in southern Italy, Mr. Antonio Pastore can definitely be considered one of the leading experts in the design, production and marketing of new architectural solutions for the treatment of surfaces of stone materials. His expertise has been later extended to the creation of mosaics both in stone materials and in glass. After selling to a major company of the stone sector his artisanal company in 2005 he started a new career as free-lance consultant in Italy and abroad in the production and marketing of new solution of architectural stones with high-value added.
He graduated with honors in Geology and get its PhD in Earth Sciences at the University of Florence. He collaborates for more than 5 years with Mugello Cave as Director of the quarries belonging to the company. Since 2008 collaborates with Geofield working in the field of ornamental and industrial minerals. In this context leads mainly stratigraphic and structural analyses on potential fields in order to evaluate the characteristics and volumes of various geo-resources, both in Italy and abroad. In the last two years he carried out some geological surveys in turkey aimed to locate and evaluate some dimension stone deposits to be used for industrial use.
